Become a telephone operator
We’re looking for a friendly, organised Telephone Operator to join our team at our Northampton office in Moulton Park.
This is a key front line role, handling inbound calls, taking bookings, supporting customers
and helping keep our operation running smoothly during our core daytime hours.
Hours:
07:00am – 5:00pm
Monday to Friday

What you’ll be doing:
Answering incoming calls from customers and taking taxi bookings
Providing clear, professional customer service
Supporting drivers and dispatch with live updates where needed
Logging jobs accurately on our booking system
Handling general enquiries and resolving basic issues
Keeping calm and efficient during busy periods
What we’re looking for:
Confident and friendly phone manner
Good communication and basic IT skills
Organised, reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Previous call centre, dispatch or customer service experience is a bonus (but not essential)

This is a key office based role focused on supporting our drivers throughout their journey with Harrisons – from initial enquiry and onboarding, through to renewals and day to day support. You’ll be the main point of contact for drivers in the office and via our driver inbox, helping to keep everything running smoothly and compliantly.

What you’ll be doing:
Supporting new drivers through the full onboarding process from start to finish
Assisting drivers with applications, paperwork and licensing requirements
Managing renewals (DBS, licences, insurance, documents, etc.)
Updating and maintaining driver records and documentation
Monitoring and responding to the driver inbox (emails and queries)
Providing friendly, professional support to drivers with any questions or issues
Liaising with internal teams to ensure drivers are set up correctly and efficiently
Keeping accurate records and ensuring compliance processes are followed
What we’re looking for:
Strong admin and organisational skills
Confident communicator – comfortable dealing with drivers face to face, by phone and email
Good attention to detail – accuracy is important for compliance and documentation
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload
Comfortable using computers, email and basic office systems
A positive, helpful attitude with a calm approach to problem solving
Previous admin or office experience preferred (but not essential for the right person)
